What information does CareerSpots.com gather and/or track about you?

Registration. When you register to use services from CareerSpots.com, we require that you supply your full name, address, e-mail address, school you attend, and year in school or year graduated. Customers who register must agree to the Terms and Conditions of Use and/or the End User License Agreement for use of the relevant service and/or the CareerSpots.com website.

Anonymous Information. CareerSpots.com may also gather anonymous information, which may be used by CareerSpots.com or shared with third parties. This is information which does not personally identify you, but which may be helpful for marketing purposes or for improving the services we offer. Generally this information is collected through “traffic data” and may entail the use of “cookies,” “IP addresses,” or other numeric codes used to identify a computer.

Cookies. CareerSpots.com employs cookies to recognize you and your access privileges on the website, as well as to track site usage. Subscribers who do not accept cookies from the domain (e.g. “CareerSpots.com”) cannot access most areas of CareerSpots.com’s website.

IP Addresses. CareerSpots.com collects IP addresses from all Users of the Site, and collects and monitors other data and information about the activities of our Users on the Site collectively. We only use such data anonymously and in the aggregate. This data is not used to track or monitor personally identifiable information of individual Users. We gather and monitor this data to analyze trends, administer the Site, identify Users when they visit the Site, track Users’ movements on the site, and gather broad demographic information for aggregate use. Credit Card Information. Financial transactions are carried out using Paypal (www.Paypal.com) or Digital Chalk (www.digitalchalk.com), service providers that offer the ability to have users enter information into a secure environment hosted on a secure server. Paypal and Digital Chalk take this information and process transactions in real time. Credit card numbers are not captured or stored on the CareerSpots.com server.

What does CareerSpots.com do with the information it gathers and/or tracks?

Statistical Analysis and Banner Advertising. CareerSpots.com may perform statistical analyses of user behavior in order to measure interest in the various areas of our site (for product development purposes) and to inform advertisers as to how many consumers have seen or “clicked” their advertising banners. CareerSpots.com also uses demographic information to allow advertising banners on our website to be targeted, in aggregate, to the readers for whom they are most pertinent. This means that readers see advertising that is most likely to interest them, and advertisers send their messages to people who are most likely to be receptive, improving both the viewer’s experience and the effectiveness of the ads. In this statistical analysis and banner advertisement targeting, we will disclose information to third parties only in aggregate form. E-Mail. Using the e-mail addresses provided at registration, CareerSpots.com periodically sends promotional e-mail to its subscribers about services offered by CareerSpots.com and its advertisers. CareerSpots.com may contact you regarding account status, changes to the subscriber agreement, and/or to confirm registration.

Occasionally, CareerSpots.com shares data collected about subscribers with other units within the CareerSpots.com group of companies or third parties whose products or services we feel may be of interest to you. Many of our subscribers find these mail or e-mail promotions valuable, whether they are shopping for merchandise, taking advantage of a special offer or purchasing unique services.

Data Security. To prevent unauthorized access, maintain data accuracy, and ensure the appropriate use of information, we have put in place appropriate physical, electronic, and managerial procedures to protect the information we collect online, including security for credit card submissions. We provide industry standard security in the form of a log-in function and a Secure Socket Layer (SSL) that encrypts the data provided so that CareerSpots can administer control over the database of information provided by subscribers.

With whom does CareerSpots.com share the information it gathers and/or tracks?

CareerSpots.com shares the information it gathers, in aggregate form, with advertisers and other partners. We do not release personal information about you as an individual to third parties, except when we have your permission or under special circumstances, as described in our Terms and Conditions of Use.

We may also disclose such information to companies and individuals we employ to perform functions on our behalf. Examples may include hosting web servers, providing customer service or processing financial transactions. These entities may have access to personal information but they are prohibited from sharing or distributing such information.

CareerSpots may disclose personal information when we believe in good faith that the law requires it or to protect the rights or property of CareerSpots, in the sole discretion of CareerSpots.
